MANAWATU SHOW.
Wednesday of the week after next is (lie llrsl day of the above lixlare, and it is continued on the Thursday and Friday folio winy, the dates being (lie Ist, 2nd and 3rd of .November. This, the principal North Island Show, is always looked forward to with interest by breeders, and visitors are always assured of a splendid exhibition of the bluest blood of the Dominion in horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, and dogs. Our Da liners ton North correspondent advises that entries have come in exceedingly well, and the new names appearing amongst the exhibitors indicate that the desire for highclass work is increasing. The purebred cattle division, for which the show is particularly famous, will again maintain its reputation, and it is understood that the pig division which has been neglected for several years past, will have a must excellent showing. The secretary informs the writer that (Shropshire sheep, which have had a poor run for several years past, are again coming to the front, and entries now in hand give promise of a, good show and keen competition. There is also a very brisk movement amongst dog fanciers, this being a very popular Kennel Club event. All divisions are Idling well, preparations being well ahead. The grounds are in splendid heart, so that all that is necessary now is line weather, and visitors will he assured of an educational and interesting time.
