The balance will probably include a largo number already in camp. Steps will be taken to trace defaulters and bring them to hook. At present Mr Frasei 1 is concentrating his energies on getting everything in readiness to hold early a ballot if necessary at the end of the present month to (ill shortages m the 21st and 22nd Reinforcements. The rolls lor the recruiting districts wore gazetted last week, and are being prepared, but it will be possible (o take the ballot if required without waiting the completion of these rolls.
