BULB SHOW.
The annual Bull) Show held under the auspices of the local' Horticultural Society was opened this afternoon by the Mayor. Despite the unfavourable weather experienced during the past six weeks, the blooms are a magnificent collection, and are considered to be the best exhibits yet shown locally. Apart from this line display, cut blooms and pot plants sections are well tilled. Anot her fine foal tire of the Show is the decorative classes. Thy children’s cookery exhibits comprise a show on their own, and are a credit to the local school children. Apart from the llowers, fruit and vegetables, a feature of the Show will lie the children’s elocutionary competitions. There are twentyfive entries, and the pieces selected comprise selections from their school work. The tea-rooms are in charge of Mrs Procter and assistants. The Show, on (he whole, promises to be a record one from every point of view. This evening Air Betty’s orchestra will contribute selections, and the finals in the elocutionary items will be given at fi o’clock.
