TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk reporter! at last, night's Coimeil meeting as follows: “During (lie past month the road staff has been engaged on the. following works: Spreading melal in Wharf Street, Moufoa Hoad and Union Street: repairing fenees at cemetery; cleaning drains and general maintenance, it was found necessary to give immediate attention to the cemetery fence in Avenue Road and No. 6 Line, owing to the posts being practically all broken off. This was done at a cost of approximately £5 l()s, and the fence is now in good condition. Nearly 000 yards of metal of the 1,000 yards ordered has been spread, and it is now coming to hand at a satisfactory rate. It will take some two months yet to complete the order, and this will mean the delaying of the work of tarring the Main Street, unless other arrangements are made. In this connection I would advise that 20 yards of sand be obtained from Tiakitahuna for use when tarring. The work which it is proposed to proceed with this month is the completion of the metalling of Union Street and Moutoa Hoad, and if time permits, the tarring of the Main Street.” — Adopted.
