SHUNTING FATALITY.
Alfred James Barber, a railway < porter, nineteen years of age, fell between two loaded waggons, while engaged in shunting operations at . the Lamhton (Wellington) railway station yesterday morning. One of ’ the waggons passed over his lef‘ leg, and he was removed to the hop-, ■ pital. It was found that the leg was'. £ badly smashed, hut Barbers’ eotlai- 1: tion was so low that immediate ainiputalion was not considered adr -■ visa hie. The young man graduaUlXCt sank and died at 3.45 p.m.
