FOXTON RACING CLUB.

The following is the report to - be submitted at (he annual meeting to he held in the Council Chamber on Monday evening next: —

“The Committee have again the. pleasure of presenting the annual statement of accounts for the year ending July 31st, 1016, lor consideration of members, and in so doing have much pleasure in recording a very successful year. The receipts from all sources amount to £5,034 4s 3d, as against £3,611 8s Sd, last year; an increase of £1,422 15s 7d. The stakes given by the Club were increased to the extent of £340 above last year’s ligures. The year commenced with a debit balance of £222 8s 2d, and a Her the cost of improvements, £4O 11s lid, and the payment of £350 (£2OO to the tnxton Patriotic Society, £SO to the Belgian Relief Fund, £SO to the Hospital Ship Fund, and £SO to the Rod Cross Fund), the debit balance is £217 12s Id, which must be considered satisfactory.

The course, “rounds ami trucks arc in excellent order, and relied credit on the caretaker. In conclusion, the Committee have to thank all officials for their efforts in bringing the Club still further ahead in its position. ’ The balance-sheet; discloses a very satisfactory position. The profit; on the race meeting amounted to £O7O 3s Id, of which £350 was donated to various patriotic lands. The receipts from all sources for the race meeting account amounted to £4,031 14s Bd, made up of: Nominations and acceptances £490 9s Od, lota lisa tor £3,505 5s sd, gate money £351 10s Id. race cards £lB7 16s, privileges £124 49s 2d, and commission on riding fees £;> 14s Od. The expenditure was: Stakes £2,100, dividend duty £OB9 2s Od, totalisator tax £779 11s Id, printing and advertising’ £l2O 12s Od, stewards’ luncheon and sundries £75 ss, wages £SB 14s, stipendiary stewards £3l 3s Od, detective £lO 10s, car hire £5, borough Band £l4, commission on race cards £ls 13s, starter £2O, handicapper £3O, a total of £3,955 11s 7d. The general account shows receipts £IOB ss, made up of training fees £l2, members’ subscriptions £lOl 14s, rent of cottage £32 11s, and rent of loose boxes £22. The expenditure was as follows: Secretary’s salary £75, caretaker’s wages £ll9 3s 4d, general expenses £9l 17s Bd, insurance and rates £72 2s 4d, maintenance and repairs £44 0s 3d, a. total oi £402 9s 7d, the debit balance £234 4s 7d, being transferred to profit and loss account.

The following nominations for the various offices have been received: President, Mr J. it. Whyte 5 vicepresidents, Messrs P. hi. Jenks, \\. E. Barber, C. liobinson and 0. Kobinsou; auditor, Mr bred Byrnes; stewards, Messrs J. V. Burr, B. Bryaht, G. Coley, F. S. Easton, L. Ereemau, H. G. Hammond, C. Hunt, Dr. Maudl, and 11. S. Thynne. As the nominations for these offices do not exceed the vacancies to be filled, the above-named are duly elected for the ensuing year.
