The High Commissioner cables as folloAvs:—
The Admiralty announces considerable enemy activity in the North Sea on Saturday.
The German high sea fleet came out, but. learning by their scouts that the British forces Avere considerable, avoided an engagement, and returned to port. In. searching- for the enemy, we lost (ho light cruisers Nottingham and Falmouth. All the officers of the former Avere saved, but 38 of the crew are mis-
smg. All the Falmouth's ctoav were sa.Amd.
An enemy submarine Avas desi roved, and another rammed and possibly sunk. A German statement that a British destroyer was sunk and a battleship damaged is untrue.
