ACCUSED COMMITTED E<)R TRIAL. At the inquest at Tc Kuiti <m the body of Kenneth Livingstone, llie victim of the tragedy on Air .1. C. Rolleston’s farm at Tima on July USth, the coroner’s verdict was that deceased, Kenneth Livingstone, met his death through gunshot wounds
caused by Tui Kai Nuku, and that deceased was wilfully murdered. Tui Kai Nuku was immediately (•barged with murder, and remanded to the afternoon, when he appeared before Messrs Tammadge and Alai - thew, justices of the peace, charged with breaking, entering, theft, arson, attempted murder, and wilful murder.
The evidence was Lie same as at the inquest.
Accused, in reply 1" the usual query whether he wished to ask the witnesses any questions, made a rambling and incoherent statement. He obviously was iu an abnormal mental condition. Constable Kennedy gave evidence as to the arrest. He said accused made a rambling statement that he was Jesus Christ the Holy Ghost, and that he was the owner of all the land in the district.
Accused was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, Hamilton, on all the charges.
