FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The Patriotic Shop was open as usual on Saturday last, under the charge of Mesdames John Robinson and Harvey. It was certainly “The Day’’ of the shop, all previous records having been eclipsed. The weight guessing for a sheep presented by Mr John Robinson realised £4 (is, and eight competitors guessed the eorreel weigld, oflhs. In the draw from Hie eight, names, Mr Frank Whihlev was successful.

The usual consignment of Motueka apples will he on sale next Saturday, and .Mr G. T. Woodroofe has presented it sheep tor a guessing competition, and same will be on view at Air Woodroofe's shop on Priday and Saturday, when guesses may he made at sixpence each. The usual monthly meeting of (ho Society will be held on Thursday of next week, the 10th of August, at 7.30 p.m., not the 3rd of August, as previously nol Hied.
