OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
A DRASTIC RECOMMENDATION. Crhistchurch, July 31. The Orand Jury 10-day hud a recommendation before Mr Justice Denniston that it considered, in view of the fact that offences againsl children appear to bo on (lie increase, it unanimously recommended to the authorities that action bo taken by which persons accused should be retained in custody under inspection by doctors, and when found to be incurable, the authorities should consider the advisability of an operation.
His Honour said he was in accord with the general principles laid down.
