FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.

The Patriotic Shop was opened last Saturday as usual, under the charge of Mrs Chas. Robinson and Miss Symons, Avh o report good business, and gratefully acknoAvledge gifts from the folloAving; — Mesdames Healey, C. Symons, Kirkley, Corkery, Burnett, Thynne, senr., Hughes, Barr, HaAvke, King, •las. Robinson, A. S. Easton, Alex. Ross, John Robinson, Newth, Haynes, Stevenson, Misses J. Ross, Speirs, Messrs Fee, Chas. Robinson, A. H. Yates, Win. Ross, C. Spiers, and the State School Fair. The goods from the School Fair Avere greatly appreciated, and special thanks are due to Mr A. H. Yates for his numerous gifts. The guessing competition for the white Leghorn rooster avus Avon by Mrs Healey, avlio guessed the correct Aveight, 41bs. 2ozs.

Next (Saturday, Mesdames John Robinson and Harvey Avill have charge of the shop. Mr John Robinson has given a sheep for a weight-guessing competition, and the sheep Avill be on view at Mr G. T. Woodroofe’s shop on Friday and Saturday on both of Avhich days competitors may try their luck at fid a guess. The usual consignment of Motueka apples Avill he on sale.

The next monthly meeting of the Patriotic Society Avill be held on Thursday, the 3rd August.
