FOXTON’S TRAIN SERVICE.
SUGGESTED ALTERATIONS
TRAFFIC MANAGER TO MEET COUNCIL.
At the last meeting of the Borough Council a resolution was passed asking the District Traffic Manager to attend the next monthly meeting of the Council, to discuss suggested alterations in the timetable. At last night’s meeting, the Town Clerk stated that he had been advised by the local station master that the District Traffic Manager would arrive in Foxton by the afternoon train on Wednesday, and would be pleased to meet members of. the Council and discuss the suggested alterations.
After considerable discussion, it was decided that the Council recommend that the present timetable he altered as follows-The morning train to leave Foxton at 8 o’clock, and the afternoon train from Foxton to leave, say, at 2.30 o’clock, in order to connect with the Auckland express. The night train to leave Palmerston North so as to reach Foxton at (5.30 o’clock. All councillors able o do so will meet the District Traffic Manager at the station on the arrival of the (rain to-morrow afternoon, and put the recommendations before him.”
