METHODIST CONCERT.
A first-class concert programme was submitted to a fair and keenly appreciative audience in the Masonic Hall on Thursday night. The concert Avas organised by Mr Ebbett in aid of the Methodist Church funds. The items by the local Borough Band and Ebbett’s orchestra were in themselves good value for the moderate charge. ■ The toAvn is to be congratulated upon possessing such clever musicians, and in Mr Ebbett the band and orchestra, have a very talented leader. The Rev. Mr Rowe presided, anti at a suitable Juncture thanked Mr Ebbett for the splendid concert programme submitted, lie informed the audience that Mr Ebbett had kindly consented to put on another concert at a later date, Avhich announcement Avas greeted Avith applause. The performers Avere entertained at supper by the lady members of the congregation after the concert. The
programme Avas as follows, nearly every item being deservedly encored; —Overture, Borough Band; soloj Miss Bryant; selection, orchestra; solo, Mr H. Osborne; recitation (capitally given) Mr McCullough; duet, Mrs itOAve and Miss 1). Signal; solo, Mr Smith; selection, Borough Band; selection, orchestra; solo, Miss Grant; recitation, Rev. Roavc; solo, Mr Jane (one of the best items of the evening); selection, Borough Band; solo, Miss D, Signal; orchestral selection and National Anthem. The accompaniments Avere played by Misses Betty, Signal and Monore.
