TRAMS FOR PALMERSTON.
LOAN PROPOSALS CARRIED. Palmerston X., June 14. Lively interest was taken in the Palmerston X orth Borough Council tramway and electric lighting loan poll to-day. The loan proposal, for £Bo,ooo—trams £60,000 and lighting £20,000 —was carried by a majority of 240 votes. The tramway is to be built on the overhead trolley sytem, and the proposed route will cover about five and a-half miles.
