FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The rehearsals for the Patriotic concert to be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday, dune Gth, are now in full swing', and an excellent performance is assured. The chorus under Mrs Freeman and Mr James Aitken is working hard, and a number of new songs will be introduced. The spectacular item, “Flags of the Allies/’ will be included. Tickets are now for sale, and are iinding ready sale. The concert is being held under the auspices and in aid of the funds of the Foxton Ladies’ Patriotic Guild, whose good work is well known to the public.
The Patriotic Shop on Saturday last, under Mesdames Kerr-Hislop and Kellow, maintained the average of sales, and gifts were received from the following : Mesdames Thynne, Healey, Me Murray, F. Robinson, Hammond (Oroua Downs), Lyne, Gower, Trigell (Marotiri), A. Ross, das. Robinson, A. S. Easton, .Murdock, Greig, Austin-John-ston, John Robinson, McLeod, King, Hawke, Misses Bertha Gower, Inez Austin, Messrs Geo. Barber, Freeman, Walker and Furrie, Greig, Wm. Ross.
Mrs Greig and Miss d. Ross will be in command on Saturday next, and a good supply of both eating and cooking apples will be for sale.
The next monthly meeting of the Society will be held in the Council Chamber on Thursday, the Bth June, at 7.30 pan.
