FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. On Friday and Saturday will be presented a powerful Vitagraph drama, “The Way of the Transgressor," in two stirring parts. Fear of tin investigation of his business by the District Attorney, brings on heart failure, and Millionaire llaggarty dies, leaving his money bidden and bis disinherited son Arthur, and Arthur’s wife, Faiiehelte, a cabaret singer, in poverty. Turner, the bank cashier, buys the house, and commences his search. Within a few days he unearths the missing fortune. He spends the money lavishly, and Eanehette, in the cabaret, suspects its origination. The money is hers and her husband's. To get il back she submits to Turner’s advances. but fails til first through (he jealousy of Arthur, who believes she wants Turner's money for herself, but who, in the tight for Eanchete’s liberty, forgets till except one thing—he must protect her find stive her from an unjust law. The supporting items include; “His Three Brides,” a Billy Reeves comedy ; “'l’he Cowboy Village,” farce ; “The Telegrapher's Peril,” melodrama ; “The Australian Gazelle." BAKER BROS.’ CIRCUS. SATURDAY NIGHT. On Saturday night Baker Bros.' Circus, which is making its annual tour of the Dominion, will he in Eoxton. 'flic circus hist year played here, and created a very good impression, and since (hen many additions have been made, and the show is one of the best, that has toured (he Dominion. Referring to their performance in Wanganui last week, Saturday's Wanganui Herald says : —Baker Bros bad a full ten! Ittsl evening. The show ilsell proved to he a capital one in every respect, the performance right through being (dean, bright, and clever, and the various performers were given unstinted applause for their efforts. Miss Barharina Bilker excelled herself in her wire-walking and contortion acts, and another feature wtts a splendid exhibition of the ju-jilsii style of wrestling by Mr Gardiner and Miss Le Alar, who both proved ihemselves very clever exponents of the aid. Professor Cole’s animals also caught the audience's fancy, and lie demonstrated remarkably wltal a skilled Iraiuer he is. The oilier performers till did excellent turns, while Ihe outlaw, “Fireworks,’ delicti till eltorls to ride him.
