MASONIC.
The annual installation of the W.M. and investiture of officers of the local Masonic Lodge took place in the Masonic Hall yesterday afternoon. B.W. Bro. T. A. Peterkin, Deputy G.M., was in attendance, and assisted in the ceremony, as also did Wor. Bros. Ferrett, Bewick and Spooner. B.W. Bro. J. A. Nash, P.G.S.W., officiated as Installing Master, and W. Bro. Hornblow as Director of Ceremonies. Visiting brethren were present from a number of sister lodges. The following officers were invested : W.M., Bro. If. .1. Berry ; 1.P.M., Wor, Bro. G. 0. Burlier ; S. W, Bro. Stevenson ; J.W., Bro. Jno. Speirs ; Chaplain, W. Bro. J. H. Bredin ; Secretary, Bro. .1. M. Barr ; Treasurer, W. Bro. M. E. Perreau ; S.D., Bro. K. Cowley ; J.D., Bro. W. lienton ; 1.G., Bro. .1. 1C Rough ; Tyler, W. Bro. F. W. de Bidder ; D.C,, W. Bro. Hornblow,
In the evening (he lady friends of the brethren and visitors were entertained at a social, when a most enjoyable time was spent. W or. Bro. Berry briefly welcomed the ladies on behalf of the Lodge. Miss White presided at the piano, and RAY. Bro. Xash officiated as •M.C. Dan eing was interspersed with vocal and elocutionary items. R-A. Bro. Peterkin delivered’ a patriotic speech. Those contributing to the programme were ; Mrs Stevenson, Bros. Rnnnicles, Hudson, Hornblow, Holbcn, Irwin, Pees and Stewart. Accompaniments were played hy Messrs Rnnnicles and Xash, and extras by Miss Lenihan. The catering was satisfactorily carried out by Mr M. E. Perreau.
