Field has given notice to ask the Minister of Agriculture whether the Government will as a matter of urgency bring down (airly (his session the promised legislation providing for the collection of orchard registration fees, such legislation being absolutely essential to the wellbeing of the industry, which is already beset with many difficulties, pests, and problems of a vexatious character. Also to ask the Prime Minister whether the Government will formulate a scheme for utilising the labour ol souk 1 of our returned soldiers in alloresliug the sand-drift areas and other waste lands of the country, and thus provide these deserving men with profitable employment,, and at (he same time pursue a policy which will help to provide the Dominion with timber to take the place ot out* own last-disappearing native forests.
