ANZAC DAY.

The Mayor moved, and Cr Freeman seconded, that the various ministers of religion in Foxtou be asked to hold a combined commemoration service in the Town Hall on the afternoon of the 25th inst. The Mayor said he hoped that Foxtou would fall into line with the suggestions contained in the communication from the Government. Sports and such like gatherings on the occasion were deprecated. The Mayor hoped that the anniversary of the landing of our boys on Gallipoli, would be fittingly celebrated. The motion was carried.
The Mayor and Cr Henderson, moved that the Wellington Military District Recruiting Committee be asked if they can supply speakers for a meeting to be held in the Town Hall on the evening ot Anzac Day. Carried.
