FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The Patriotic Shop was opened as usual on Saturday last, under the charge of Mesdames AustinJohnston and Gower, who report excellent business. The Society gratefully thanks the following tor gifts : —Mesdames Frank Robinson, Alex Ross, B. Gower, P. Brown, Healey, Ralne, AustinJohnston, Mandl, Kent-Johuston, Chas. Curamerfield, Fraser, Admore, Francis, Lawrence, Mark Newth, McLeod, A. King, Signal, Stevenson, and Chas. Robinson, Misses J. Ross, Inez Austin and Bertha Gower, Messrs Bullard, Freeman, Hughes, Woodham, Walker and Furrie, Wm. Ross, F. C. Raikes (Oroua Downs), T. Bowe, Greig, Jas. Ross and Turner, a F'riend, and anonymous (by post). Next Saturday the shop will be under the charge of Mrs Greig and Miss Ross. The monthly meeting of the Society will be held on Thursday next. 13th inst., at 7.30 p.ra., at the Council Chambers. The main business will be the arrangement of celebrations for Anzac day, the 25th April. All membeis and intending members, in fact anyone interested in patriotic affairs, are urgently requested to attend. Collectors who have not yet handed in their March amounts are requested to do so as soon as possible. Any person knowing of cases of necessity arising from the consequences of the war needing relief, is respectfully requested to notify same to the secretary, who would also be pleased to know of any employment that might suit returned soldiers.
