MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

quarterly returns. During the March quarter three sittings of the court were presided over by the Magistrate and nine by Justices. GIVIE. The aggregate amount sued for was 4s 2d and the amount recovered ,£l4O 2s 3d. Three applications were heard in chambers, 26 plaints were entered, 7 judgment summonses issued and two orders made on judgment summons. Fifty-one summonses and other processes were served and two distress warrants executed. The amount of civil fees paid in stamps was 19s. CRIMINAL. Forty-one persons were taken into custody or summoned. Thirtytour were fined, three imprisoned, two orders made and two convicted and discharged. The fines and fees amounted to 7S. OLD AGE PENSIONS. Three old age pensions were granted.
