INFANTILE PARALYSIS.

IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT. Five cases of infantile paralysis in the Wellington District were reported to the Public Health Department yesterday, Wellington i, Petone i, Palmerston N. i, Inaha (Taranaki) x, Riverlea (Taranaki) x. Tuesday’s total for the district was 13. The Health Department states that fumigation of schools is being carried out systematically, and those schools where ‘ contacts have been in attendance are being closed down until they have been thoroughly disinfected and cleaned. Auckland, April 4. Seven more cases of infantile paralysis were notified from the country districts to-day. There have been no further cases in the city for over a week. Napier, April 4. The total number of infantile paralysis cases in the Hawke’s Bay district is thirty-one.
