BOWLING.
The match for the Manawatu Ferns, played on the local green yesterday afternoon, was a very interesting one, the result being in doubt until the last bowl had been played. The holders started of! well and when the alterr.con tea adjournment was made the score stood B—3 in their favour. The refreshments apparently improved the visitors play as they put on a four and a two in the next two heads. From this out the scoring was very even, the totals being equal on five occasions. After the twentieth head the score read 17 all, but the visitors scored-two on the twenty-first head and thus won the game. The president of the Foxton Club (Mr D. Whibley) handed the trophies to the winners and congratulated them on their win. Mr F. Sollitt, on behalf of the visitors, returned thanks for the very pleasant time they had had. The following were the teams : Terrace End. P'oxtou. Levy Ball Snell Hore Everitt Spring Sollitt (s) 19 a Rimmer (s) 17 Owing to one of the players being unable to get away Terrace End was unable to send a second rink yesterday.
