PARLIAMENT.
A MAY SESSION. There is good reason to believe that Parliament will meet a week or so later than was recently stated says the Post. The date lor which members will be - called together will now be early in May and not the end of April. It is understood that though this period has been decided upon, the exact date has to be fixed after Cabinet has met. It is certain that unless untoward circumstances arise in connection with the war,, all the wo;k expected of Parliament this year will be transacted at the one session. No second session will be called. There will be no policy legislation introduced and the greater portion of the business, apart from Departmental affairs, will have to do with matters arising out of the war. In spite of threats and dark hints that have found publication occasionally, it is not expected \in reliable quarters that the session will be protracted.
