GUARD’S FATAL FALL.

Dunedin, March 24. When the Oamaru-Dunedin train had passed through the Mihiwaka tunnel at 7.30 last evening, Guard James Mitchell was missed. A search was made and he was found in the centre of the tunnel, badly injured, having apparently slipped off the carriage platform. He died in the Dunedin hospital early this morning.
