HORTICULTURAL SHOW.

TO-NIGHT AND TO MORROW NIGHT.

The local Horticultural Society’s Summer Show was officially opened this afternoon, and will be open again this evening and tomorrow evening. The long spell of dry experienced has made an appreciable difference in the number of entries received, but under the circumstances the entries are satisfactory both as regards quantity and quality. To night and to-morrow night a number of novel and interesting competitions will be decided, this portion of the programme being under the control of Mr Peter Robinson. There will also be the usual sheep and cake guessing competitions, etc. During each evening a programme of music will be given by Mr Betty’s orchestra, and the Borough Band will also play a number of selections.
