SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON SITTINGS
The Palmerston North sitting of the Supreme Court opened on Tuesday. Thomas Schofield, who pleaded guilty to forgery and uttering was brought forward for sentence, and was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment with hard labour. In the case against John O’Connor on a charge of indecent assault the jury brought in a verdict of guilty with a strong recommendation for mercy on account of prisoner’s age. Sentence was deferred.
William Newberry, of Dannevirke, was found guilty of indecent assault and sentence was deferred.
