FOXTON RACES.
SATURDAY AND MONDAY. The Foxton Racing Club's annual race meeting, which is always a very popular one, ibis year promises to be even more successful than past gatherings. The acceptances are slightly larger than those received last year and the class of horses engaged is quite as good as usual. The track and grounds have received careful attention and are in as good couditioa as is possible to get them, although a good downpour of rain would improve the going very considerably. The meeting is a patriotic one, the whole of the profits to be donated to the Sick and Wounded Soldiers Fund. The attendance will no doubt be a record one as in addition to the ordinary sporting public a large number of soldiers from Rangiotu camp is expected, to whom an invitation to be present has been extended by the committee. Soldiers in uniform will be admitted free. The catering arrangements are in the hands of Messrs Langley Bros, and the totalisator will be under the management of Messrs Marrett and Fox. The first event starts each day at noon.
