The official summary of casualties,to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, up to and includ-. ing the lists issued on 21st, gives a total of 8033, Of these 1099 officers and men were killed in action, 536 died of wounds, 263 died of disease, 2 died from causes unknown, 32 nurses and men were drowned, 658 are missing, 23 are prisoners of' war, and 5420 have been wounded. The dead, comprising killed in action and died Irom various causes, total 2932. The details are as under :
