FURRKR’S PICTURES. “Rated at Ten Millions” is the star feature at the current programme at the Town Hall, and the initial screening was witnessed by an appreciative audience. It is an exceptionally superb and emotional drama of city and society life and holds the individual attention from start to finish. Other good pictures constitute a splendid programme which will be repealed to-night.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY,
The change of programme for Friday and Saturday is headed by a Rubin production entitled, “The Rife Riue,” featuring the popular player, Arthur Johnston. Mary Marsh, a stenographer, is employed by Rolf Howard, a bachelor of forty, who, seeing the beauty of her soul in its rough setting, endeavours to lift her to an appreciation of higher things, and gives her books. Her brother, however, is a black sheep and his misdoings lead the girl into some very complicated situations, which include a forgery of her employer’s signature to save her brother from the prison. The unfolding of the story is dramatically arranged and well told, the end being a happy one. Other pictures of interest include : “Dare Devil Chief,” a 2000 feet Keystone laugh maker; “Haunting Memories,” a pathetic little play filmed by the Flying A Company ; “The Actor’s Boarding House,” a screamingly funny farce; “Topical Budget” ; and “Tangle of Pokes and Jokes,” a series of funny items made for laughing purposes only and sure to tickle.
