WAR PENSIONS
PREMIER DEFENDS THE ACT. Weeungton, Dec. 6. A deputation of over fifty representative citizens including several members of Parliament, interviewed Mr Massey 011 the subject of the War Pension Act. Replying, Mr Massey said there appeared to be a general misconception as to the previsions ot the Act, which compared fevourabi}’ v/itu the best in the wo" 1/1, To call Par)lament together to consider the Act would cost about ,£xo.ooo, and be urged that there was no necessity for such au expenditure. Reasonable amendments could be proposed and considered next session, but the present agitation against the Act was doing a lot of barm.
