CROQUET.
Yesterday afternoon the ladies held a singles tournament for a trophy presented by Mrs Woods. Each game occupied 20 minutes, the player getting the most hoops during the afternoon to win the prize. The games were keenly contested and the result was a win for Miss Speirs. The following are the scores by each player taking part ; Miss Speirs 34, Mrs Woods 32, Mrs Bryant 31, Mrs Evans 30, Miss B. Speirs 30, Mrs McColl 27, Mrs Parkes 25, Miss Edwards 22, Mrs Ball x 6, Mrs Barr 15.
Another tournament ou the same lines of that held yesterday afternoon will be held to-morrow fortnight, tor which Mrs McColl has donated a trophy. The prizes won last year will be presented to the winners on that afternoon instead of to-morrow afternoon as previously announced.
