CONCERT AND SOCIAL.

Then; was a fair attendance at the above function held in the Masonic Hall on Thursday night, under the auspices ot the Methodist Ladies’ Guild. Miss Signal carried out the duties of chairwoman in a manner which indicated that “mere man’’ is not indispensible. The programme was varied, and included a humorous duet, “Money Matters,” by Miss Signal and Mr Saunders, and a small comedy entitled, “Wanted, a General Servant.” The parts were well sustained by Mesdatnes Rowe, Saunders, Woodroofe, and Misses Walker and Honore. The quartette party (Mrs Boyes, Miss Signal, and Messrs Barr and Signal) contributed several numbers, which were much appreciated, as were the duets by Mr and Mrs Aitken and Mesdatnes Rowe and Woodroofe. Other contributors to the programme were, Mrs Boyes, Messrs Aitken, Hornblow, Chrystall, and the Rev. Rowe. The accompaniments were played by Miss Honore and Miss and Mr H. Signal. Refreshments were provided by the lady members. Votes of thanks were accorded the performers, and Miss Signal for presiding.
