The Rev D. C. Bates wires today as follows: — The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale at times, with a southerly tendency ; weather probably cold and changeable, with scattered showers ; the barometer has a rising tendency, but is unsteady. Sea considerable, tides good swell.
