HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.

The High Commissioner cabled yesterday at noon as follows : The hemp market is quiet, but steady. New Zealand : OctoberDecember shipments, good fair high-point fair £32, lowpoint fair £3l. Buyers are offering 5s per ton less. Spot delivery commands five to ten shillings per ton more, but there is little offering. The stock-of New Zealand hemp on August 31st was 576 tons, Manila : Shippers are not anxious to sell, and the market is quiet but firm. New graded fair. September-November, 10s; spot £4O nominal. The output for the week was 20,000 bales.
