FOXTON RACING CLUB.
ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report of the Foxton Racing Club to be presented at the annual general meeting, to be held in the Council Chamber on Friday evening next: — “The Committee have again the pleasure ol presenting the annual statement of accounts for the year ending July 31st, 1915, for the consideration ot members, and in so doing have much pleasure in recording a very successful year, notwithstanding a decrease as compared with the previous year. The receipts from all sources amount to ,£3,611 8s Bd, as against ,£3,778 4s last year, a decrease of .£166 153 4d. The stakes given by the Club were increased to the extent of ,£SO above last year’s figures. The year commenced with a debit balance of ,£376 2s rod, and after the cost of improvements, ,£162 ns 6d, and the payment of £l5O (£SO to the Empire Defence Fund and ,£IOO to the N.Z. Wounded Soldiers Fund), the debit balance is £222 8s 2d, which must be considered satisfactory. The course, grounds and tracks are in excellent order, and reflect credit on the caretaker. In conclusion, the Committee have to thank all officials for their effi rts in ing the Club still further its position. The whole of the committee retire, but are eligible for re-election.’’ The balance-sheet shows that the receipts from all sources amounted to ,£3,611 8s Bd, the ■ chief items being, totalisator ,£2.482 los Sd, nominations and acceptances ,£392, gates £273, race cards £164 12s 6d, and booths £l3O. The expenditure totalled £3,466 14s, the main items of expenditure being, stakes £1,760, totalisator tax £6So 6s 3d, printing and advertising £ll6 19s 6d, and patriotic donations £l5O.
