FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Foxton Tennis Club was held in Mr Perreau’s rooms last night. There was a fair attendance of members and Mr Stiles occupied the chair. In his address the chairman said it was impossible at present to predict as to the amount of success that would attend the coming season’s operations as the chib would be affected to some extent through loss of male members on account of the war, but it was hoped that the number of lady members would be increased. The trophies presented last year were won as follows : Mr Furrie’s trophy won by Mr Jackson, and Mr Fraser’s trophy by Miss MeKendry. The trophies offered by Dr. Mandl and Mr Stiles were not competed for. Although the club’s credit balance this year was .a little less than the last year the position was very satisfactory as the sum of £ls 17s had been expended on the courts during the year. The balance sheet, which was read and adopted, disclosed a credit balance of £2 5s ad as against £j 10s Sd last year. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year Patron, Mr O.
