FULLER’S PICTURES,

The change of programme for to-morrow night at the Town Hall contains an unapproachable production by the London Film Company. picturised from Hugh Conway’s brilliant novel, a’ master piece of fiction, “Called Back.” This vivid and sensational drama follows closely every phase of the novel. The action of the play takes place when Italy was endeavouring to throw oil the Austrian yoke. Dr Ceneri, almost a fanatic in the movement, uses the trust moneys held by him for the benefit of his dead sister’s children, Pauline and Anthony March. Anthony has a keen suspicion of his uncle, Dr Ceneri, and an intense hatred of Paolo Macari, Ceneri’s associate. Paolo Marcari has become inflamed with a love for Pauline. Anthony informs his uncle that he requires a satisfactory settlement of his and his sister’s affairs. Marcari, in a subsequent quarrel, kills Anthony, and the deed is witnessed by Anthony's sister, who loses her reason. Gilbert Vaugheu, who is afflicted by blindness, goes out for a little exercise, but wanders into Dr Ceneri’s house at the moment of the murder. The murderer makes good his escape. Three years later Gilbert recovers his sight, and falls in love with Pauline, ignorant of her association with the murder. Dr Ceneri agrees to their marriage, but Paolo Macari causes Ceueri to be sentenced to Siberia, and Gilbert Vaughen subsequently crosses the wastes of Siberia to find out the truth. Ceneri explains the whole plot. Marcari pays the death penalty, and Gilbert finds Pauline now recovered. The end is arrived at happily. Supporting films consist of scenic, dramatic, comic and topical items.
