HOTELS AND THE WAR.

SIX O’CLOCK CLOSING PROPOSED. Wkij.inc'.tux, Aug. 19. Over sixty petitions representing 62,755 signatures, were presented to the House of Representatives to night praying that hotel bars should be closed at 6 p.rn. daily until the close of the war. The majority of the members presented petitions on the subject, and some amusement was caused when the Hon. A. M. Myers rose tor this purpose. It is stated that the Government does not intend to introduce any licensing legislation this session.
