BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at Monday night’s Council meeting as follows : “I have the honour to report that the following amounts have been received since last meeting and placed to credit: For district fund account /1214 os yd and to cemetery account £1 15s. The positions of these accounts as per bank pass book are as under : District fund account credit balance of £s 17s nd and ceretery account credit balance of 3s ,sd. The ledger balances of the various accounts are as under: Gas works ,£541 15s id, reserves 3s, sanitation ,£lls 6s 9d, town hall ,£3O 2s rod, roads and streets loan No. 2 ,£l6 4386, cemetery £l2 3s 3d, beach road loan £8 93 id, contractors’deposits library £3 5s 6d, Shannon bridge loan 17s Bd, roads and streets loan 3s sd all in credit, a total oi £852 1 is sd. The accounts at debit are : General 15s 4d, gas works loan £282 is sd, Council Chamber and public library loan ,£l7 17s id, imprest cash ,£lO, hospital and charitable aid £7 6s id, Whirokino bridge loan £\ os 4d, and ■Whirokino bridge additions loan £2 9s iod, a total of 10s id.
