VALEDICTORY
A patty of residents sprung a surprise visit ou Constable •Sweeney at his residence on Monday night to bid farewell and to present him with tokens of their esteem. The spokesman was Mr Sid. Hudson, who expressed the general regret left at Mr Sweeney’s departure, and relerred to the esteem in which he is held by the townspeople. On behalf of those present and townspeople generally, he asked Mr Sweeney to accept a travelling rug and some silverware. Mr Sweeney suitably acknowledged fbe presentations and the kindly thoughts which had prompted them. His removal to Stratford was at his own request, The gifts would ever remind him of his Foxton friends.
