MOTOR ACCIDENT.

A rather nasty smash occurred on the Hutt road at Kaiwarra, between noon and 1 p.m. on Sunday, between a car driven by a visitor to Wellington, and a motor cycle and side-car, cays yesterday's Dominion. It appears that the car was- travelling northwards from the city, and through swerving slightly, or skidding, it is said to have veered into the track of the motor cycle, that was travelling in the opposite direction. The motor car was overturned, and its occupants thrown out, and one, a young lady, had a small bone in one of her arms broken. The car had the wind-screen smashed, one of the lamps broken, and the running gear was so knocked about that the front axle’ and wheels had to be dismantled in order that the car could be towed back to town. The marvellous part of the accident was the small injury sustained by the motor cycle, which only had the two front forks snapped off at the base. The occupants of the car were Mr and Mrs R. Moore and Miss Wanklyn, ot Foxton, and the lady occupant of the side car was a sister-in-law of Mr Kelly, of Foxton. It was a narrow escape for all concerned.
