HOCKEY.
Considerable disappointment was expressed by local hockey players yesterday at the postponement of the match, Levin A v. Foxtou, to have been played locally yesterday. The notification postponing the match was only received at the last moment and the weather conditions locally were fivourable. We understand that this is not the first occasion that the Association secretary has upset arrangements and the local team expressed its disapproval oi such laxity on the part of the Levin officials. If such remissness continues it will end in the Foxton club pulling out of the competitions. The F'oxton Club should have been consulted as to the necessity for postponing the match and in any case ample time oi postponement should have been given. A letter of pretest is to be forwarded to the Association from the local club.
A practice match was played on the racecourse yesterday between the Foxton male team and the Awahou (ladies). A very interesting game resulted and some good individual play was wit« nessed.
