CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor). Sir. —I would like to ask whether the Foxton Indies' Guild made their purchases for material outside the town ? A rumour is in circulation to this effect, and I think the matter should be cleared up. Some people can never be satisfied unless they trade outside the town, and as private individuals they can please themselves. But, sir, when contributions are raised locally, and local tradespeopse respond liberally to any public society, requirements needed should be purchased locally. Perhaps the secretary of the Guild could enlighten the public on the matter. Thanking you in anticipation. — I am, etc., Contributor. [We have submitted the above letter to the guild secretary, who intorras us that up to the time of providing goods for the Hospital Ship all material was purchased locally and this practice will be followed in future. Certain material could not be supplied locally and was obtained from Mrs Luke, of Wellington, which could only be obtained from the military authorities. — Ed. H.]
