Mr and Mrs Wickliffe, “Nga Rimu,” Shannon, gave a musical “pay’’party on Thursday evening last. Mr Bovis auctioned a box of chocolates, which realised over £l in penny bids. This amount, together with the guests’ donations, brought the total up to about & 5. The object of the party was to raise funds lor Miss McKegg, Manawatu Carnival Queen. A similar party is to be given by Mr and Mrs Tilling on 7 next Wednesday.
