Germany is to receive a rejoinder from the United States today, and, unless an early reply is received, diplomatic relations will be severed. Przemysl is menaced by one million Austro-Germans, but their movements are hampered by Russian onslaughts from north, east, and south. The Russians have been heavily reinforced. The Allies have won further successes in the western battlefields. The French offensive proceeds with glowing success. In the Dardanelles the Allies are progressing favourably. The Australasians had a brilliant success at Gaba Tepe. The Turkish defeats and their terrible losses have intensified the gloom in Constantinople. There are signs that Roumania and Bulgaria may participate in the war in favour of the Allies. The Italian campaign makes good progress.
