VARIETY FAIR TO-NIGHT.

BALI, TO-MORROW NIGHT. All arrangements are in readiness for to night’s Variety Fair. The interior of the hail and stage has been allotted to various stalls, games and novel competitions. The committee and stall holders have made all arrangements, and the interior ot the hall presents a busy scene. In the centre of the hall Mr Smith has erected a band rotunda, which with the decorations and coloured lights, presents a very artistic appearance. * * * The first item will be given by the drill squad from the local State school at 7.30. Then the curtain will go up and the Patriotic Minstrels will render their programme. During the programme it is requested that the public will keep as quiet as possible. All side shows, competitions and stall holders will cease operations during the programme which will last about 40 minutes. The final sale of goods will commence at 10 p.m. when all surplus goods then unsold will be offered to public competition. * * * Mr Collins’ orchestra will provide selections during the evening. * * * The side shows and competitions are too numerous to particularise and should create plenty of amusement for young and old. * The committee desire to acknowledge gifts of pictures from the Misses Flora and Alison Campbell, of Marotiri, and Mr Alex Morgan, a ham and sweets from Mrs Renton, of Himataugi, jam and sauce from Mrs Kompster, mechanical toy Messrs Pearson and Co., Rev Mr Rowe tos, Mrs Knewslubb has made and donated a Belgian flag. The stalls are arranged as follows : On entering the door to the right, book stall, dart boards, ring tables, skittles and golden moments, tobacco stall, sweet stall, produce stall. On the stage racecourse and Aunt Sally etc. On the floor going to the entrance electrical table, flower stall, gipsy tent and quoits. Guessing competitions for various prizes will be in operation.
