MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of those interested in the formation of a miniature rifle club was held in the Masonic Hall on Tuesday evening. There were about .sixteen present aud the Rev Mr Raine was voted to the chair. The chairman and the convener (Mr Geo. Barber) outlined the objects of the club. On the motion of Mr C. Simmons it was unanimously decided to form a club, Mr Boyes suggested that the club be a branch of the Defence Rifle Club. After discussion it was decided to hold this matter over pending a conference with the Defence Rifle Club. The following officers were elected: Chairman, Rev. Mr Raine; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Simmons; committee, Messrs Kirkley, Boyes, Preston. H, Hamer, Barnard, Rev. Raine. Mr Hamer offered the use cf premises to the club at a rental of 10s per week. —Matter held over. It was decided to hold a further meeting in the Town Hall supperroom to-morrow (Friday) night at 8 o'clock, when all interested in the movement are specially invited to attend.
