FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.

STATUTORY MEETING. The statutory tueeiiug of the Foxton Harbour Board was held at Palmerston North on Tuesday afternoon. Present: Messrs P. Hennessy, W. E. Barber, T. J. Claphatn, B. R. Gardener, E. R. B. Holben and J. A. Nash. The secretary reported that he had been advised that the following members had been elected to represent the places mentioned : Foxton, Messrs Hennessy and Jenks; T,evln, Mr B. R. Gardener; Palmerston, Mr J. A. Nash; Feilding, Mr Clapham. No advice had been received from the Manawatu County CouncilMr P. Hennessy was unanimously re-elected chairman on the motion of Mr Nash, seconded by Mr Clapham. A letter was read from Mr Weston, the Board's arbitrator on the wharf purchase question, advising that he expected it would be a week and possibly a lortnight before he would be able to furnish the Board with a report in connection with this matter. Mr Nash said he intended calling a public meeting in regard to the question ot the wharf, and he thought all the evidence possible should be submitted by each district interested when the matter was brought cefore the arbitrators. It was decided to ask Mr Weston’s opinion as to the advisability of the Board producing evidence outside the Board.
