BELGIAN RELIEF.
MEETING OF LADIES. With the object of enlisting the sympathy and assistance of the fair sex in connection with the Variety Fair and Fancy Dress Ball to be held ou June 3rd and 4th in aid of, the Belgian Relief Fund, the Mayor convened a meeting ot ladies which was held ou Tuesday afternoon. There was a good attendance and the Mayor, who presided, explained the object of the meeting. The following committees were set up in connection with the various stalls etc. Tea room for Fair. —Mes-iames Jenks (convener), J. Barber, A. Ross aud Fraser, Sweet Stall. —Mesdaraes Harvey (convener) aud Boyes and Misses Robinson. Flower Stall. —Mesdames A. S. Easton (convener), F. Robinson and Jenks. Supper for Ball. Mesdames Raine (convener), Preston, C, Symons aud Fraser. The ladies suggested that the Fair should be opened during the afternoon of June 3rd, and this suggestion will be considered at the next meeting of the general committee.
